AI receptionist for law firms: The enquiry that rings at 8pm is worth more than the one at 11am.
Prime Assist is an AI receptionist for law firms. Every after-hours enquiry reaches you, not the firm down the road: it takes the details, asks your conflict questions, books the consultation and writes the record into your case system.
From £150 a month including VAT
£125 plus VAT for 500 minutes, about 140 to 200 calls. New customers get the first three months free with a 12-month commitment.Note 1: new customer offer terms
- 24/7 intake
- Conflict questions at reception level
- Full transcript on file
- UK or EU processing region
Hi, I had a car accident last week and I want to know if I have a claim.
I can take the details now and book you a free 20 minute call with the personal injury team. Can I start with your full name and postcode?
Yes. Dan Whitfield, LS6 2AB.
Thank you. Nothing on file that conflicts, so I have you in with Priya tomorrow at 11am, and the intake notes are already on the file.
Can an AI receptionist work for a law firm?
Yes, for intake and reception work. Prime Assist answers every inbound call, captures a structured enquiry against your own intake criteria, asks the conflict-check questions you specify, books consultations into fee earners diaries and writes the record into your case management system. It does not give legal advice and it does not judge the merits of a case. Anything that needs a solicitor is routed to one with the transcript attached, so no caller is told anything a partner would not sign off.
The calls a legal reception fields all day.
Configured against your practice areas, your intake criteria and your rules on who takes what.
New enquiries, qualified
Captures the matter type, the key dates, the other side, and whether it fits your criteria before anyone spends fee-earner time on it.
Conflict-check questions
Asks the questions you specify, flags a possible conflict and stops rather than proceeding. A human decides.
Consultation booking
Offers real availability from the right fee earner and confirms by text and email.
Existing client updates
Confirms the next hearing date or appointment from the file, and passes anything substantive to the case handler.
Outstanding documents
When a client calls, tells them what is still outstanding and takes a promise date, logged against the matter.
Out of hours cover
Evenings and weekends answered live, so the enquiry that would have gone to the firm down the road comes to you.
Where it hands over. Advice, merits, fees beyond your published scale, anything involving a vulnerable caller, distress, an urgent injunction or a deadline that day: routed straight to a named human with the transcript. Prime Assist is a reception and intake tool, not a lawyer.
Legal enquiries are a race, and voicemail loses it.
08:40
The pre-work enquiry
People call about legal problems before work, at lunch and after dinner. Your line is staffed for none of those.
13:10
One receptionist, six practice areas
Every enquiry needs different questions. A generic message means the fee earner starts from nothing.
20:15
The Sunday injury enquiry
Personal injury and conveyancing enquiries convert on speed. An enquiry that reaches voicemail can become an instruction for another firm.
A four-partner high street firm, three practice areas.
Illustrative scenario, not a customer result.Note 2: how this scenario was modelled
BEFORE
- Line covered 9am to 5:30pm, voicemail outside that
- Calls unanswered at peak and in the lunch hour
- New enquiries reach fee earners as one-line messages
- Conflict checks happen after someone has already spent time on the matter
AFTER PRIME ASSIST
- Every call answered at once, including evenings and weekends
- Structured intake note on the file before a fee earner sees it
- Conflict questions asked at first contact, possible conflicts flagged and held
- Reception time redirected to clients who are physically in the office
-
Every call answered at once
Never queued, so no enquiry goes to voicemail.
-
24 hours a day, seven days a week
Evenings and weekends included.
-
Conflict questions asked at first contact
Possible conflicts flagged for a human to decide.

It writes into the case system, not into an inbox.

Built for the strictest front desk first. Pointed at your intake line.
We built Prime Assist for GP and dental reception, where every call needs a script, a record and a fast route to a person. Your enquiries get the same three things.
Defined escalation
It knows the edge of its remit and crosses to a human instead of guessing.
Audit trail as standard
Transcript, timestamps and actions on every call. Useful when a caller disputes what was said.
Writes into your system
Not an email you re-key. The outcome lands where your team already works.
UK-built, UK or EU hosted
A UK or EU processing region, committed by contract, and it is built for UK accents, place names, postcodes and date formats.
Compare against answering services, IVR and in-house reception
Questions from legal practices.
Ask us something elseWill it give legal advice?
No. Prime Assist is restricted to reception and intake: it answers, captures the enquiry, asks the questions you specify, books, routes and escalates. Any request for advice, a view on merits or a fee estimate beyond your published scale is handed to a human.
How does it handle conflict checks?
It asks the conflict questions you define at first contact, records the answers against the enquiry, and flags a possible conflict for a human to decide. It never clears a conflict itself.
Is client confidentiality protected?
Client data is processed in a UK or EU processing region, committed by contract, under UK GDPR and a written data processing agreement. Every call is transcribed into your own system rather than held loosely. Ask for our DPIA template on your demo.
Can it work with our case management system?
Yes, where an API or a Zapier connector exists. Confirm your specific system with us before launch.
What happens with a distressed or vulnerable caller?
Escalation is defined, not improvised. Distress cues, safeguarding concerns and urgent matters route immediately to a named human with the transcript attached.
Does it replace our receptionist?
No. It removes the queue and the out-of-hours gap so your receptionist deals with people in the building and calls that genuinely need judgement.

Three ways to test us. Only one of them involves talking to a human.
Buying voice AI on a slide deck is how people end up with something that fails on the first awkward caller. So we made the product itself easy to try before you commit to anything.
Hear it for yourself, right now
Ring the line, choose a scenario, for example a dental practice or a trades business, and talk to Prime Assist the way one of your callers would. Ask it to book you in, then try to catch it out. No form and no email address.
Call +44 20 3747 7785We only get in touch if you ask us to.
Put a number on your missed calls
Two questions show the calls you miss today next to the same calls with Prime Assist, where every call is answered at once. Add your own figures to see what they are worth, what answering them would cost from £150 a month including VAT, and how many of your bookings that price equals.
Run my numbersNo email needed: nothing you enter leaves your browser.
Watch it handle your calls
Bring the three calls that waste the most of your team’s day. We run them live, in your sector’s language, and tell you honestly which ones we would not take. One short form to book.
Book a demoNo card, no sales sequence, one human reply.
Do all three, in that order, and it takes a little over half an hour in total. We would rather you tested the product than read our claims about it.
Let AI answer the phone, so your team can answer your clients.
Thirty minutes, your own practice areas and intake questions, and you will hear Prime Assist run them.
Free proof of concept on one call type, no cost and no obligation.

On 500 minutes, the bundle for your 12 months costs £1,350 including VAT (£1,125 plus VAT), plus any extra minutes, at 36p a minute including VAT (30p plus VAT) in every month, free months included. For new customers, switchers included, once per customer. A new customer is a practice or business that has not used Prime Assist in the 24 months before it signs. Switching? - Illustrative scenario, not a customer result. Modelled on a firm taking 300 inbound calls a month with one full-time receptionist, no out-of-hours cover and about one call in five unanswered at peak and over lunch. Figures are worked examples, not measured results. Back to text, note 2
- Text, iMessage, WhatsApp and web chat are quoted in writing after the demo. A complex setup, for example work that needs our Clinical Safety Officer, may carry a one-off fee, quoted and agreed in writing before work starts. Back to text, note 3, mention 1Back to text (2), note 3, mention 2
